VISION &
PRIORITIES

The Nick Dixon Foundation has been put on my heart & the hearts of my family due to the loss of my beloved son Nicholas Joshua . We lost Nick 1/11/2019 during a knee surgery .Nick was a senior in H.S. A star athlete with several offers to play college ball. Nick was well known & loved by all that came in contact with him. He had a heart of gold .I always referred to him as my gentle giant. He was a 6'0ft 250lb line backer a beast on the football field , but the most gentle ,kindest soul off the field. He was also the family prankster. When Nick passed away the outpouring of love that my family received ,the messages I received from his peers telling me how he stood up for them in school or how he made them feel welcomed when they were new kid in school ,the stories of how he shared bible verses & prayed with his team mates. All of these positive things are the inspiration behind the Nick Dixon Foundation. We live in a time where child loss is at an all time high.It seems like every week a mother is burying a child. I wasn't prepared to bury my son. I didn't have life insurance on any of my children. One never thinks something like this will happen to them. The most recent loss was a 7 month old baby lost to gun violence. So many families aren't prepared financially for such a loss. Funeral cost ,time off from work can take a toll on a families finances . Go fund me's are great & what helped my family at the time Nick passed away .The many donations that we were blessed with I will forever be grateful for. I've pondered the last 6 years how we can give back & help families that are thrown into this nightmare because no one volunteers to walk this journey. If we can take a little bit of pressure off of a family whether it be a monetary donation to help cover funeral cost ,gift cards for meals or groceries or just a little breathing room to simply grieve & not worry about a bill .The worst feeling ever is to have to rush back to work because you can't afford to be home & grieve. I know our angel is smiling down & proud of the legacy we intend to leave in his honor.

MEET NICK DIXON

Nicholas Joshua Dixon was born on October 13, 2000, in Decatur, GA, the third of seven children. From the very beginning, Nicholas—affectionately known as Nick—was a bright and remarkable child. He walked early, learned quickly, and even potty trained in a single day. His natural curiosity and intelligence were evident from a young age, and by preschool, his teachers recognized that he was gifted and encouraged testing for the program when he was ready. By second grade, Nick was enrolled in gifted classes, where he continued to excel academically all the way through high school, eventually joining The Viking Early College.

Nick wasn’t just gifted in the classroom—he shined in everything he pursued. He began his football journey in 8th grade at Carver Middle School, and that same year, he wrestled for the first time and even placed in state. There was truly nothing he couldn’t do when he put his mind to it. From academics to athletics, Nick approached every challenge with determination and heart, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Beyond his achievements, Nick was a blessing to our entire family. He was the cherished brother to four sisters and two brothers and a loving uncle to his nephews. He had a joyful spirit, a playful sense of humor, and a way of lighting up every room he entered. Nick was our class clown, the life of every party, and a constant source of laughter and love.

Though his time with us was far too short, Nick left behind a legacy of love, kindness, and inspiration. The lessons he shared, the joy he brought, and the example he set for his younger siblings and all who knew him continue to live on. We are forever grateful to God for blessing us with a son like Nicholas Joshua Dixon, whose heart and spirit will never be forgotten.
